Shared Services and Business Analytics
The Next Wave of Value for Shared Services Operations
More than ever organizations understand the value effective analytics can have on their businesses. As highlighted in ScottMadden’s paper, “Business Analytics – How to Bridge the Gap Between Knowledge and Results,” most organizations face two primary obstacles in realizing the value of analytics: the lack of technology integration and the inability to secure and develop the right talent. Many companies are starting to invest in predictive analytics capabilities, but they are still in the early stages of maturity, as emphasized in ScottMadden’s paper, “Business Analytics Maturity.” We found that only a few companies have been able to make the necessary investments to successfully overcome these obstacles and reach the end-state benefits so often attributed to effective use of predictive analytics.
This report highlights what could be the next wave of value for Shared Services Operations (SSOs)—to act as the central nexus for developing and improving business analytics within organizations.
This is the last in a series on ScottMadden insights on shared services and business analytics.
