The DUEC is an annual student-led event aimed at bringing together thought leaders in industry, government, and academia to fuel independent analysis on energy markets, trends, policies, and technologies.

Challenges and Opportunities for Distributed Energy Resources
The panel will take a comprehensive look at the present and future state of DERs through multiple lenses, such as technological challenges of DER integration; customer adoption and awareness; adoption challenges and opportunities for utilities and also support and planning initiatives; actions, obstacles, and perceptions for the regulatory commission.

Potential Questions

• What are the technical challenges of having an increasingly distributed power generation capacity and how should we tackle it?
• What are the policy changes required to unlock value for each of the stakeholders? What is the prognosis for these policies to be enacted?
• Final thoughts: How should the different stakeholders collaborate amongst each other to ensure that each of them unlock the value of investments they made?
