ScottMadden and Ontario Power Generation to Share Breakthrough Approach to Improving Nuclear Parts Availability at the ANS Utility Working Conference

August 16, 2016

ScottMadden, Inc., one of North America’s leading energy consulting firms, is proud to join industry leaders as a presenter at the American Nuclear Society’s annual Utility Working Conference (UWC) and Vendor Technology Expo. The conference, being held August 14–17 at the Omni Amelia Island Plantation in Amelia Island, Florida, provides an opportunity to learn best practices and share real-world experiences with experts from across the nuclear industry.

Marc Miller, partner at ScottMadden, will join Frank Guglielmi, vice president of fleet operations and maintenance at Ontario Power Generation (OPG), to offer perspective on how one of the largest nuclear operators in North America used a breakthrough approach to address longstanding issues with parts availability. Jordan Gillis, director at ScottMadden, will serve as the session organizer.

“The OPG fleet is now well into implementing solutions to improve parts availability and is seeing significant, positive results. I am excited for conference participants to learn from Frank about how OPG has systematically tackled what is a common challenge across the industry,” said Mr. Miller. “We chose to present this at the UWC this year because it really impacts all three strategic focus areas of ‘Delivering the Nuclear Promise.’”
