Experienced Consultants possess the technical and analytical ability of their ScottMadden peers in addition to the leadership, project management and client relationship skills necessary to successfully manage a variety of project types and sizes. They should be overall masters of project operations, while simultaneously helping to build strong, long-term client relationships. Travel requirements vary but can be up to four or five days per week.
Key Expectations
- Project Management: manages all project aspects within time and budget constraints; demonstrates strong project management skills including: work plan development, budget and schedule adherence as well as the ability to adapt to unexpected changes; demonstrates the ability to successfully manage multiple projects and tasks at once
- Communication: communicates effectively with client and team members; ensures that the partner on the project is regularly and thoroughly informed about project status; adheres to ScottMadden deliverable protocols; demonstrates excellent stand up presentation skills
- Resource Management: aware of how and when to bring in both junior and senior resources and applies these resources in the manner which brings the most value to the client; effectively manages other consultants, providing helpful and appropriate feedback whenever possible
- Relationship Management: builds long-term and profitable client relationships; identifies talent within client organizations and maintains strong relationships with these individuals as they progress in their careers
- Technical Ability: demonstrates technical ability within one or several of the firms main practice areas; cultivates a technical expertise which is in demand and is highly valuable to the firm
Education and Experience Requirements
- MBA
- Consulting or relevant industry experience
- Preference to candidates with experience in one of our four key practice areas: Energy, Federal Government, Shared Services or Sustainability
