ScottMadden assisted the client in developing the infrastructure needed to meet DOE and other reporting requirements and implementing processes and procedures for grant management.

The Challenge

The company received Smart Grid Investment and Demonstration Grants from DOE totaling more than $360 million and needed help with identifying all DOE and American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) reporting requirements
There were no processes in place to collect and submit the required reporting information
Failure to comply with DOE and ARRA reporting requirements might have resulted in withholding of future payments, suspension, or termination of the award by DOE

Identified and documented DOE and ARRA reporting requirements and communicated findings to the client and sub-awardees
Created a set of reporting templates to support quality actions, drive a consistent approach, and ensure that the client is in compliance with DOE/ARRA reporting requirements
