2010 Advanced Energy Manufacturing Tax Credit

Jake Jacobi | August 2010

President Obama and congressional leaders from both parties are calling for expansion of Advanced Energy Manufacturing Tax Credits (AEMTCs) in 2010.  They are asking for another $5 billion in AEMTCs.  Allocation of these credits is expected to parallel that seen 2009.

The AEMTC provides a 30% credit to U.S. taxpayers for viable investments in new, expanded, or re-equipped advanced energy manufacturing projects.  In 2009, $2.3 billion in AEMTCs were awarded to advanced energy manufacturing projects.  The goal was to support total capital investments of almost $7.7 billion in new renewable and advanced energy manufacturing projects.
