Biomass Gasification Facility for Clean Synthetic Diesel

Jake Jacobi | June 2009

Gasification technology has been in existence for many years in the refinery industry, but potential oil scarcity and price sensitivities along with environmental concerns have sparked a renewed interest in biomass gasification around the world.

The commercial industrial-scale sector of biomass gasification in the United States—still in the demonstration phase—is focused on marketing and further development of gasification technology such as synthetic diesel fuel, which has tremendous potential and is the focal point of much research and development.

In the document "Biomass Gasification Facility for Clean Synthetic Diesel Fuels," ScottMadden provides an overview and details of gasification technologies, explores the costs, funding, and investment issues, and provides a profile of commercial biomass gasifiers.
