Elevating Human Resources in Difficult Times

The recent economic climate has elevated the pressure on Human Resources organizations to cut costs. At the same time, companies are continuing to require their Human Resources organizations to be more business oriented. Terms like "strategic," "business partner," "scalable," "business focused," and "value added" are frequently used to describe the ideal Human Resources organization.


Are these views compatible? While it might appear difficult to be more business oriented while reducing operating costs, many organizations have found it can be done. The key is dramatically reshaping the way Human Resources services are delivered to the customer and leveraging technology to do it.
