Project Controls

Jere Jacobi, Scott Manning | April 2009

Project management deliverables are increasingly more difficult to achieve. The life cycle for projects is straightforward and repeatable for projects of all sizes, but pressure to start later and end sooner affects every stage of large capital project development and implementation.

In addition, the volatility of materials and commodity prices and a general shortage of skilled craft labor have all driven the need for a set of reliable and useable project controls that can be used to successfully manage project cost, schedule and quality results.

Project controls include processes, procedures, and tools that can be employed by project managers from the initial planning phases of a project to the project completion. The management of multiple projects can be managed through the implementation of a project management office.

ScottMadden possesses a broad body of knowledge and best practices that have been brought to bear in a variety of project applications. In the document "Project Controls," we provide a summary of tools and techniques that illustrate our approach to managing projects. Please contact us for further information.
