Todd Williams, Director

Todd Williams is a director with more than five years of consulting experience focusing on the electric power industry. His expertise includes organization design and restructuring, merger integration, and change management to ensure alignment with strategic direction.

Prior to joining ScottMadden, Mr. Williams owned and operated The Landmark Group, a real estate brokerage firm headquartered in Beijing, China. He earned an M.B.A. with honors from the Goizueta School of Business at Emory University, a B.A. in political science from the University of the South, and a certificate of honors in intensive Mandarin Chinese language study from Anhui Teachers University in Wuhu, China.

Recent Assignments

 
  • Prepared a comprehensive divestiture plan to support the sale of six power plants representing more than 5,000 MW, while complying with a DOJ hold separate order
  • Managed a 14-team, 45-member integration project to support the merger of two fossil fuel business units. The project included performing a current-state assessment, developing the future state, and preparing a comprehensive integration plan to merge the two business units
  • Led a generation company design team through writing, approval, and planning the implementation of centralized policies, programs, processes, and procedures for 12 major functional areas of the business
  • Managed the analysis and design of an organizational restructuring for a public energy utility's accounting and finance department. The results insured that appropriate process and organizational controls had been established to mitigate process control risk, comply with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, and reduce overall headcount
  • Conducted a leading practice survey to benchmark process effectiveness for the accounting and finance organizations of a public energy utility
  • Designed and prepared standard operating processes in support of a Sarbanes-Oxley audit for a major pharmaceutical company's stock option administration group. Identified all control points and redefined roles and responsibilities to strengthen process redesign
  • Performed integration analysis, designed an operating model, and prepared an implementation project plan to support the integration of two similar HR business units following a corporate acquisition by a major pharmaceutical company. Created and validated new business processes, defined management and operational strategy, prepared new organization design, and created job descriptions
  • Performed a comprehensive management review of the operations of a government-owned power utility in the Caribbean
  • Designed finance and accounting processes, assessed and designed accounting system requirements, and established organizational staffing needs and reporting structure for a new transmission utility company created by a $600 billion spin-off
