ScottMaddens methodology for assessing greenhouse gas readiness is applicable to all levels of corporate management and fossil operations
A brief presentation by Jere Jacobi, a ScottMadden partner who is actively engaged in supporting clients with this most important issue.
Utilities
and other fossil generation companies face significant and increasing
long-term challenges. One of the more important challenges is how to
respond to rapid changes in Greenhouse Gas rules, legislation, and
compliance requirements. ScottMadden's environmental assessment in the
air quality area addresses how the landscape is changing at an
accelerated pace, outlines what companies need now to meet future
requirements, and provides an outline of the assessment methodology.
ScottMadden
has applied its industry knowledge and experience to develop an
assessment tool designed to provide generation owners with an
understanding of their exposure to financial and regulatory risks
arising from greenhouse gas challenges. We use evaluative techniques
outlined in ISO 14000 standards, coupled with our operational
assessment methodology, and we also draw from our ongoing involvement
in emergent environmental rules and legislation to help our clients
meet their challenges. ScottMadden is an active member (and the only
consulting firm) of the North American Carbon Capture and Storage
Association (NACCSA), and we have been involved in assessing management
and operational performance with many generation owners over a wide
spectrum of strategic issues.
